We live in a fallen world. There’s nothing perfect here. That’s why we have such sadness in the world.
Sadness is something that we all encounter at some point in life. None of us are exempt. We experience losses which can cause us to be sad but God doesn’t want us to wallow in sadness. He wants us to exchange our sadness for His joy. How?
The Bible says in 1 Peter 5:7 ”Cast all your cares on Him for He cares for you.” Then, in Psalm 30:11 it says “You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.”
Clearly God doesn’t want us sad!
Now that you know God doesn’t want you sad, how do you trade it in for joy? It may seem oversimplified, but when you are sad, speak out loud that you choose God’s joy. Then pray and ask God to honor His Word. He will.
Much of what we get out of this life comes by way of our mouths. You’ve heard, “You are what you eat.” You also are what you speak.
Jesus said, “Speak to the mountain to be removed and it shall move.” (Mark 11:23). “Life and death is in the power of the tongue and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof” is recorded in Proverbs (18:21).
Exchange your sadness for God’s joy today. It’s His will and He loves you very much!
